Productivity
You can make more efficient use of My Ching, by learning the following keyboard shortcuts. If you are familiar with the keyboard shortcuts on the Firefox web browser, then some of them will already be familiar to you.
Tab Control
Ctrl + Page Down
Select the tab to the right of the current one.
Ctrl + Page Up
Select the tab to the left of the current one.
Ctrl + N
Open a new journal entry in a new tab.
Ctrl + W (or Ctrl + F4)
Close the currently selected tab. No effect on search tab.
Shift + Ctrl + W (or Shift + Ctrl + F4)
Close all open tabs with the exception of the search tab.
Ctrl + Tab
Opens the tab selection menu. Use the Up and Down arrow keys while continuing to hold the Ctrl button allows you to select a tab. Or alternatively, use the mouse to click on a tab name.
Journal Page View
Ctrl + E
Change the currently selected entry tab to editing mode.
Delete
Delete the current entry and display the next search result.
Alt + Left arrow
View the previous entry in the search result list.
Alt + Right arrow
View the next entry in the search result list.
Journal Editing
Ctrl + B
Turn the current line into a bold heading by inserting an equals sign ( = ) at each end.
Ctrl + K
Turn the currently highlighted text into a hyperlink.
Ctrl + N
Create a new entry in a new tab.
Ctrl + S
Save changes to the entry being edited and switch back to viewing mode.
Ctrl + Y
Reapplies text editing action that was undone with Ctrl + Z. (Applies to Notes and Question input area)
Ctrl + Z
Undo previous text editing action. (Applies to Notes and Question input area)
Alt + Left arrow
Select the previous journal entry section:
- Question
- Hexagram
- Notes
Alt + Right arrow
Select the next journal entry section:
- Question
- Hexagram
- Notes
Scrollable Page
Home
Scroll up to top of page.
End
Scroll down to bottom of page.
Page Up
Scroll upwards by one page (viewable area height.)
Page Down
Scroll downwards by one page (viewable area height.)
Application
Ctrl + Q
Quit the application.
